Even though some health conditions require a combination or Prilosec and antibiotics, it is advised that you use all medications as prescribed by the doctor in order to treat your condition best without risking your health. It is also advised that you go through the medication guide or the patient’s instructions that comes with all medications. You should only change your dosage when advised by your doctor. Prilosec must be taken as prescribed by the doctor even if you feel better before completing your dose. This is because your symptoms may disappear even before your condition is completely cured.

You should inform your doctor when you are under other medications such as anti fungal medications as they can badly react with Prilosec. Unless it is advised by your doctor, Prilosec should be taken once a day for two weeks only. Generally, this drug starts to show its effects after four days. You should take Prilosec immediately when you wake up even before taking breakfast. It is also advisable that you take it at the same time everyday in order to allow an even flow of it into your blood. Before giving Prilosec to a child, you have to inform your doctor because its dosage is different to different people depending on the age and the condition that is being treated.

Prilosec is also strictly restricted to pregnant women and breast feeding women because it is under the category C therefore it can be harmful to the fetus or can be found in the breast milk therefore you should inform your doctor before using Prilosec while breast feeding.
